What Moms are Saying...
Before getting pregnant I had never heard of placenta encapsulation and when I first heard about it I thought it sounded- well... kinda gross. BUT I listened to all the benefits in Hypnobirthing class and did some research of my own and then it made so much sense. I was a little worried about having post-partum depression because of previously dealing with depression so I figured even if that was the only benefit (which it's not, there are tons of benefits) that it would be worth it. We had our baby at a birth center so we had absolutely problems or obstacles keeping it. Our doula came to prepare it and it was ready when I was about 4 days postpartum. I felt the difference immediately. Before I started to take it my body felt very tired and achey, I was bleeding heavily, and I just felt kinda dazed and lethargic but once I took it my bleeding decreased ALOT, I felt less tired and I had tons more energy, and my body wasn't achy and sore anymore. Basically, I was back to feeling physically and emotionally like my usual self- which is priceless when you have your beautiful newborn baby and all you want to think about is them and not be bothered with feeling achy and exhausted. I know it sounds kinda weird and we definitely got a few crazy looks from some people when we told them we were doing it, but it is 100% worth it. Your placenta is a beautiful custom made organ for your baby and it shouldn't go to waste :) I definitely recommend placenta encapsulation and will most definitely be doing it again after my next birth. Also, our doula saved the umbilical cord and shaped it like a heart before dehydrating it and gave it to us so that we can have it to remember the nine months that my baby and I were connected- super cool! I definetly think the placenta helps! The level of depression from last
time was waaaay less though....I take the placenta pills as needed and
they work amazing!!! Whenever I feel like crying or just emotionally
unstable, I pop 2 pills and very soon after feel better. I actually have
a friend of mine who has the pills also...we end up calling each other
when we are having a tough time and often need to remind each
other to
take the pills!! :)
