Naturopathic Doctors are the first doctors you may see when you need a check-up, have an illness, or a question about your health. As with all primary care doctors, a Naturopathic Doctor (ND) can provide physical exams, order tests, prescribe certain medications and refer you to other physicians when necessary. What is unique about Naturopathic Medicine is the philosophy of functional medicine which investigates underlying dietary, nutritional, lifestyle, environmental and psychosocial factors that might alter ones health and seeks the cause behind the expression of illness.

In California, Dr. Mazza is among the leaders in the advancement of naturopathic medicine by holding the prestigious position as Vice President and Legislative Chairperson of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. She is often called upon to educate legislators, the department of health and the California Medical Association on the scope of training of ND’s in the quest to fully integrate Naturopathic Medicine into the California healthcare system. Dr. Mazza also serves as a medical consultant for Whole Foods Market- Hillcrest the second & fourth Saturday each month from 11 am– 3 pm in the whole body dept. She offers quarterly free lectures at the market on various health topics.
